Following a full season of rider feedback, including testing assistance from AZ DPS in high-temperature conditions, FMS has redesigned the lidar gun holster mount for 2026 R 1300 RT-P models. Riders reported that the early mount design could alter the path of radiator exhaust air, causing discomfort. The new mount moves the holster forward of the mounting point, eliminating that air deflection.
Note: radiator exhaust air is still present and runs hotter in high-heat conditions with less ambient air to dilute it. FMS recommends proper riding gear regardless of mount version.
Free Exchange Program
As a gesture of goodwill, FMS is exchanging original-version mounting brackets for the new design at no material cost to agencies. The exchange uses the same mounting hardware you already have, no new hardware required.

Early Zebra printer mounting brackets attached directly to the lidar mounting bracket. A new combination bracket, compatible with all configurations or usable standalone, is currently in production with availability expected in early September. This will be available for purchase separately once in stock.
