FMS has created a rifle heat shield to deflect the exhaust heat when your rifle mount is adjusted where the muzzle cup is directly in line with the exhaust from the muffler. Examples have been reported where the plastic dip coating on the muzzle cup melts-off. This new heat shield should prevent that. Most typically needed for RH long rifle mounts where the muzzle tip is directly in-line with the exhaust outlet.

A long rifle mounting bracket was developed to accommodate rifles with long barrel lengths (18") or shorter barrel rifles with suppressors. The rifle sits higher, angled 30 degrees to the right of center, providing more protection for optical sights. The mount is angled slightly toward the rear tire, to provide full clearance while riding at maximum lean angle. An additional bolt location is provided at the bottom to stabilize the lower support extended fully. A spacer is provided for the top mounting position to allow more flexibility with lower support lengths. Made from stainless steel.

The FMS Accessories rifle mount has now been split into three main component parts — the Upper Section, the Lower Support, and the Mounting Bracket.

⚠ The Lower Support and Mounting Bracket must be ordered separately based on your rifle type/style and motorcycle model/year.

Upper Section

  • Newest GEN 2 version, further modified for the new R 1300 RT-P
  • Retroactively compatible with all earlier RT-P models back to 2006
  • Adjustable barrel support (order separately) accommodates:
    • Up to 14" with standard mounts
    • Up to 18" with the RH Long mounting bracket
  • Barrel lengths include overall length with suppressor fitted

  • Santa Cruz Gunlocks shielded SC-1 lock with CA round key
  • New anti-magnetic lock shield built into the rifle mount
  • Wire chamber with quick-connect SCGL
  • Black wiring harness terminated for the BMW gun lock release plug connector

Important Notes

  • R 1300 RT-P with long rifle brackets: Modification is required when mounting earlier model upper mounts — specifically, relocating the pin for the rubber strap, or it could damage the tail light.

Agencies have requested a cover designed to make exterior mounted rifles look less threatening to the general public and provides some dust and water protection at the same time. The cover, made of rugged 1,000 denier ballistic nylon, is attached with two Velcro straps. The handy loop at the top makes removal quick by detaching the two Velcro straps and lifting the cover off the rifle. The cover was designed to fit rifles with carry handles / smaller optics. Note that the cover only extends down to cover the forearm to avoid issues related to exhaust heat.
